Dr. James Stephen Brown is a graduate of the New York University College of Dentistry where he also completed his general practice residency. As a member of the Group Health Dental team for over 25 years, Dr. Brown enjoys working with patients to develop comprehensive care plans focused on each individual’s specific needs and concerns. Dr. Brown specializes in general dentistry with an emphasis on esthetics and implant restorations. Dr.Brown is also a proficient an avid musician and guitar player.
Dr. Ramoncito a NYU Dental school graduate completed his residency at Saint Joseph Hospital Trauma Center. His goal with his patients is to make them happy with their smiles. His specialties include General and Cosmetic dentistry. As a clinician, Dr. Benito was a member of a reputable honors program. His hobbies outside of the dental office include Race Car Driving, Scuba Diving, Tennis, Skiing, and Cycling. Dr. Benito is also known for serenading his patients on occasion.
Dr. Arti Patel Upadhyay is a graduate of Howard University College of Dentistry. After leaving Washington D.C., she continued her training in New York by completing a General Practice Residency at Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Patel also completed a one year fellowship in Implantology associated with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. Dr. Patel’s dedication to the field of dentistry stems from her dedication to serving people. She is committed to listening to her patient’s needs and extinguishing dental phobias with her warm and gentle approach. From full mouth reconstruction to cosmetic cases, Dr. Patel is enthusiastic about restoring a patient’s smile to satisfy both esthetics and function.
Dr. Efron attended the Tufts School of Dental Medicine in Boston graduating in 1995. He then moved to Brooklyn for a two year Trauma /Dental residency at Woodhull hospital. He loves the practice of Dentistry and looks forward to Monday mornings. He has practiced Dentistry in Manhattan for over twenty years and still can’t believe it. Dr Efron is an avid soccer player who has played competitively since the age of seven. He enjoys reading everything and anything. He lives in Park Slope with his amazing wife and two wonderful sons.
Dr. Hashimoto graduated from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 2008 and then went on to complete a Periodontics residency from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York City in 2011. Dr. Hashimoto specializes in Periodontics and implant dentistry.
Dr. Brownstein has been in practice for almost 30 yrs and has been located on the North Shore in Manhasset for this time. He was born on Long Island and resides now in NYC. He earned his B.A. degree from Suny Binghamton in Biochemistry in 1982. He graduated NYU School of Dentistry in 1986 where he earned his D.D.S. degree. His goal as an Endodontist is to perform quality care to his patients. He did his general practice residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and then did his specialty training at Nassau County Medical Center and earned his degree in Endodontics in 1989. He has published many articles in the field of Endodontics and was one of the first to utilize Digital Radiography in New York. He has appeared on Cablevision to discuss this topic.He is one of the first endodontists to utilize endoscopic microscopics as well as being well trained in 3D Cone Beam Radiography. He has been voted in TOPDOCS as one of the top endodontists in his field for the fourth straight year. Dr. Brownstein has two daughters and one son, Harris and is a National Qualified bodybuilder who enjoys sports, weight training and automobiles.
Dr. Maryam Aftab Jamil grew up in Southern Maryland. She completed her doctorate at Howard University College of Dentistry and completed a general practice residency in Brookdale University in Brooklyn, NY.
Her biggest passion is helping patients achieve a healthy, beautiful smile while ensuring they feel comfortable.
Dr. Kristina Rodriguez Salaverry was awarded her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Columbia University’s College of Dental Medicine after receiving a Bachelor of Arts with honors from Dartmouth College.
She obtained a Master of Science in periodontics during her residency at Columbia University, where her research examined the prevalence of periodontal disease in patients with advanced heart failure. Recently, Dr. Salaverry published a paper entitled “A Dentist’s Role in the Treatment of Halitosis” in the October 2013 edition of the dental journal Compendium .
Dr. Salaverry takes great pride in emphasizing the connection between oral health and overall well-being. She is passionate about saving teeth whenever possible, finding a way to replace teeth that have been lost, and is excited to be part of a team that gives someone their smile back.
Her specialties include evaluating periodontal risk factors, non-surgical and surgical treatment of periodontal disease, treatment of halitosis, and aesthetic implant therapy. In addition to private practice, she has been an instructor of clinical dental medicine at Columbia within the Section of Oral and Diagnostic Sciences (Division of Periodontics). In 2013, Dr. Salaverry became a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
Outside the world of dentistry, Dr. Salaverry is a violinist with the New York Repertory Orchestra and performs in several concerts throughout the year. Her other hobbies include attending musical theater and movies, cooking, yoga, pilates, and fantasy football. She is also a member of the New York Junior League.
Dr. Otto graduated from The University of Maryland School of Dentistry and completed residency at Montefiore Medical Center.
Her mission is to provide comprehensive and quality care with emphasis on oral health education, restorative and cosmetic dentistry in an atmosphere of warmth, integrity and grace.
She believes that every person and tooth deserves respect and makes this her priority daily.
As a result of her altruism, leadership, service and dedication to the field she was recognized by her University in 2018.
Outside of work, she enjoys running and has completed a half marathon. She can also be found cultivating her horticulture skills, enjoying the arts and is learning to play the acoustic guitar after playing the piano for 10 years.
